A professional in health care and aging for more than 20 years, Cheryl A. Kuba is a gerontologist, humorist, and author. She is uniquely qualified to make audience members feel enriched and empowered as care managers. Her passion for improving the quality of life for older adults is evident in every presentation. Her insight is second to none regarding the "double-tiered" sandwich generation, how the rational aged become irrational, role reversal and guilt.
Cheryl's audiences both laugh and cry over her stories about her own family, and the final chapters of life. Using professional tools and resources, including a Masters degree in Gerontology, she enriches the experience, and makes the journey a little smoother.
A prolific author, Cheryl has written three books on caregiving, including the award winning, “Navigating the Journey of Aging Parents: What Care Receivers Want, (Routledge 2005). She is the former talk show host of Care Radio on NewTalk 560 WIND covering the Chicago market and a three state area. Cheryl is also a frequent media guest on national television, radio and web based broadcasts, and contributor to main stream editorial pieces on care management.
Cheryl is the Manager of Professional Services for LivHOME, a national care management company and is a member of Chicago’s Horizon Hospice ethics committee. She is the immediate past president of NSA –IL, its Humanitarian of the Year (2005) and recipient of the 2009 Nick Carter Award for commitment to the speaking profession.
