President's Message Click here for the current Board of Directors Click here to read about the Board and committeees
But wait…there’s more to NSA Illinois than what you have read on our home page. If you are reading this message you are delving into the meat of the organization – the leadership. Our chapter is not only driven by the more than capable board members, but beyond the board we have dedicated individuals who have stepped up to the plate to make our chapter soar. But let’s start with the board members. The link at the top of this page will introduce you to our wonderful action team. Starting with John Walsh as president –elect, chairman, special events and following the lead of immediate past president Mark Partridge, I can’t think of a more dynamic duo to have on both sides of the NSA –IL presidency. As mentioned on the home page, Mark Partridge is leading the charge for our new Pros Power Hour programs. Action figures working as a team both on deck and away are Sue & Jerry Black. As executive director, Sue keeps her eye on the business side of NSA, adding her warm, nurturing touch to every task. Jerry manages the books, keeps us in the black (no pun intended) and keeps us in step with the bi-laws. Bi-laws, in-laws, this husband and wife team make it work! Getting Speaker University off to a powerful start are Conor Cunneen and Janet Franck. If you want to enroll, be a guest lecturer or are just curious about the program, contact Conor or Janet. Look for Conor to get an NSA/Toastmasters group going for our chapter. Stefania Aulicino is heading up our Fabulous Friday programming, and to let the world know about that wonderful programming we have Barb Dwyer spreading our message as Director of Communications. If you aren’t quite sure how to become a member of NSA, Maureen O’Brien will have the answers. We welcome your membership questions and comments. Rita Emmett and Read Bradford, both seasoned professionals in the speaking business, have signed onto the board as Directors at Large –masters of many things! Tom Lee has brought his journalist expertise to our board in heading up our Public Outreach committee and Judy Marcus works in a new position with NSA as our chapter liaison. The Humanitarian Foundation has its mission achieved by dedicated directors, and this year’s Humanitarian leadership is no exception. At the helm of the Humanitarian Foundation are former NSA-IL presidents Pat McWard, Rick Jakle (a former national president as well) and Mark Partridge. Our NSA leaders consist of many unsung heroes who quietly and selflessly volunteer for mentoring, special committees and just jump in to make newcomers feel welcome. Join us in becoming a leader for NSA Illinois. We welcome your actions and involvement. Take action.
