The One You Requested: the Best of Influence 2018 Webinar

The 2018 National Speaker Association’s biggest annual conference, Influence, was exceptional. And a number of people who were not able to attend asked if our chapter could provide highlights of what people learned and the key announcements.

And now there is a new and more pressing reason: the Chapter has the recordings of all of the sessions that were recorded and they will be available to NSA Illinois Members.  Learn which sessions should not be missed.

This collaborative program is our first webinar of the new season, and will take place on Thursday, October 25, from 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM.

Registration is required.  NSA Illinois Members are complimentary: Non-Member fee is $20.00.

And don't miss our upcoming programs:

11/15/18 (WEBINAR): "Gas Pedal Down: Leverage the Power of a Mastermind Group"

12/14/18: "Mastering the Art of Spin Business" (Laurie Guest, CSP)

1/11/19: "How to Build a Speaking Business" (Jeffrey Hayzlett, CPAE)

Experience the power of a Mastermind group with two professional speakers who have lifted each other up, broken each other down, shared successes, and weathered tragedies.  Through it all, they’ve created a high-performance group which changed the course of their businesses and personal lives.

Take your business and your life to the next level by leveraging an idea that’s been around for over 75 years.  In this session participants will:

    •         Learn a framework to uncover behavior patterns, break through your  "go to"   excuses, and get clarity on what will work.
    •         Practice 10 Mastermind success secrets.
    •         Discuss how to form and run a well-structured Mastermind group.
    •         Develop a system to ultimately accelerate your success.

Whether you’re thinking about forming a Mastermind or have been in one for 25 years, this session will have something for you.

We’ll put the power of the Mastermind to work right in the room.  Have you been stuck on a challenge in your business?  Bring the challenge and have an opportunity to have the collective brainpower in the room get to work on producing a solution.

After hitting a ceiling in her field, Jessica Pettitt, CSP, formed a meeting of minds with three other professional speakers - Eliz Greene, Gerry O’Brion, CSP, and Thom Singer, CSP, and successfully broke through a stagnant business plan.  Two years later, all four speakers have felt the impact of a process called Gas Pedal Down.  In this webinar, you will meet two of the four and learn how they did it.

      About the Presenters:

      Jessica Pettitt, CSP

Jessica Pettitt works with organizations to build welcoming, productive, and innovative teams.  She creates the ability to communicate, listen, learn and take responsibility leading to a welcoming, and dare we say, fun workplace environment. For more than a decade, Jessica has been educating college and university staff members with her unique brand of social justice and diversity education.  Whether she provides a motivational keynote, an in-depth workshop, facilitates group interaction, or frames an entire conference as emcee, Jessica brings humor and creatively engages participants so they walk away focused and confident in their role to make change now.

      Thom Singer, CSP

Thom Singer has an eclectic background working in sales, marketing and business development roles for Fortune 500 Companies, Law Firms, and entrepreneurial ventures.  He is a business growth speaker whose work gets people to build influence, unlock potential, and drive performance. He believes that all opportunities come from people, and when we work together to find “cooperative significance” with others we all discover more success and illuminate their possibilities.

Singer is the author of twelve books and he speaks regularly at business and association conferences around the United States and beyond. He is also the host of the widely popular “Cool Things Entrepreneurs Do” podcast.  On this show he interviews entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, and business leaders from a variety of industries.  He encourages his guests to share tips and ideas that can help those with an “entrepreneurial spirit” understand their potential and then go for it. Thom and his wife, Sara, make their home in Austin, Texas and are the parents of two highly spirited daughters.

Every time you speak an opportunity to book more business presents itself to you. This can be either an encore invitation, an audience inquiry, or a referral to another group. If you aren’t getting at least one new booking at every gig, you might be missing some strategic moves. How solid is your spin ratio?

In this session, Laurie shares every action she uses to uncover leads and close more work. You will learn:

      •         5 most creative ideas she has tried in the last 21 years
      •         4 easy phrases to help close deals
      •         3 biggest mistakes of her career related to missed opportunities and how you can avoid the same fate
      •         2 things everyone must do to master the matrix
      •         1 takeaway you can’t get if you aren’t in the room for this session

This program contains all fresh material that Laurie Guest has not presented to any other chapter...you can't afford to miss this fast-paced session.

      Grow Your Speaking:

Want to know how to leverage your platform? Learn how Jeffrey Hayzlett took his books and speaking platform to a new level by influencing the media.

      •  how to book 150+ keynotes/year
      • how we landed a prime-time television show
      • how we leverage every show and every speech to get more events and more speeches
      • how social media accounts for most of our leads and bookings
      • how we use our branding to make sure we are seen in the best positioning

How we turned a TV show into a Business Network

That is just some of it--- because the biggest thing we will do- is answer any and all questions you may have about how we do things -- what works and what has failed miserably. So bring your questions, any and all. Ask whatever you want and we will be glad to share. We will show you EVERYTHING--- our marketing samples, our marketing plan, contracts, tweets, social media activation worksheets-----anything and everything.

We won't have all the answers or the 'right' way to do things. But what we do works for us and we are glad to share how we do it and if there is something you can borrow or learn from, well that is great!
