NSA-IL Virtual Auction – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):
Q: How long will the preview be going on?
A: The preview goes from 9 am on Wednesday May 6, 2020 until the start of the virtual auction at 9 am on Wednesday May 20th. Additional items will continue to be added up until the start of the auction.
Q: When will the bidding be available on the items?
A: The actual bidding will be available from 9 am on Wednesday May 20, 2020 and will conclude at 5 pm on Wednesday May 27, 2020. Please note that NSA-IL cannot control nor be responsible for unexpected internet connectivity or disruption issues, nor individual speed issues that may impact the bidding receipt.
Q: How secure is my bidding and payment information?
A: You will be setting up a password only known to you for access to your Auctria (the Auction Software) Account. There will be a “Forgot Password” option if you forget your software so that you may re-set. Your financial information is secured and directly deposited into NSA-IL and is not seen by anyone else. All bids are also private so you will not see the person’s real identity who you are bidding against.
Q: Where does the money go if I bid on and purchase an item?
for their donations – the declared value of the items reflects the routine market value of the services or goods.
A: All proceeds of the auction are provided to NSA-IL, a not for profit 501c6, for furthering educational offerings for the chapter in the professional development of speakers. The donors of the services receive no compensation.
Q: What happens after I win and pay for the item?
A: You will be notified of the win and the donor will be notified as well. Please allow up to 1 week to be contacted by the donor for next steps. Some items will be mailed, and others will require scheduling.
Q: Can I bid on more than one item?
A: You can bid on as many items as you want and can win/pay for as many as you want. Some items will be offered more than one time (multiples were donated) and you will be able to bid on more than one of the items if they are available. So, if you are outbid – do not give up!
Q: Can I just donate to NSA-IL if I lose a bid or do not bid on anything but still want to contribute?
A: Yes and thank you! There will be a place to donate a cash donation at will if you do not see anything you want to bid on (but we are sure you will! )
Q: How do I find out if I have been outbid or if I have won an item?
A: Once you are registered and bidding, the system will be notifying you about the status of your bid including confirmations, outbid, and final winning notice. A mobile app will be available.
Q: How does the bidding work?
A: After you select an item you want to bid on, the value of the item and the minimum starting dollar amount is displayed. Bids will not be accepted below that amount. For those who are eager to win an item or service, a “Buy Now” price will be available so that you can secure that item at full value. You may bid up to and more than the value of the item (and we appreciate that) as this is a fundraiser.
Q: How long do I have to use a service?
A: Specific expiration rules are defined separately on each item and do vary. Extreme circumstances may allow extension of a date to be worked out between the donor and the purchaser. All items, once purchased, are non-refundable.
