Professional speaking is a lucrative—but challenging—profession. NSA Illinois’s Speakers Academy provides the resources you need to understand the business of speaking.

The faculty features dedicated, accomplished professionals who make all or part of their living as professional speakers. You’ll learn the speaking business from the inside out from professionals from USA & Europe who have spoken to audiences all around the globe.

Of course, we’ll show you how to enhance your presentation skills. But NSA Illinois’ Speakers Academy focuses on how to develop and market yourself to people at corporations, associations, and organizations who hire—and pay—speakers.

Event Information

Dates: All sessions take place on Saturdays.

  • Session 1: Saturday, March 1
  • Session 2: Saturday, March 8
  • Session 3: Saturday, March 22
  • Session 4: Saturday, April 5
  • Session 5: Saturday, April 26
  • Session 6: Saturday, May 3
  • Session 7: Saturday, May 17
  • Session 8: Saturday, May 24
  • Time: 9 AM to 1 PM
  • Location: Zoom

IMPORTANT DETAILS ABOUT YOUR PARTICIPATION

By registering for this program,  you agree that:

  • You understand that Speakers Academy is delivered via 6 half-day virtual training sessions.
  • All sessions run from 9 am to 1 pm Central.
  • All sessions are delivered via Zoom and will be recorded.
  • Session dates are March 1, March 8, March 22, April 5, April 26, May 3, May 17, and May 24, 2025.
  • You agree to complete and submit your participate profile form within 48 hours of registration. (You will be directed to this form after completing your enrollment.)
You also agree that if you are unable to attend any sessions that:
  • You will notify the Academy Co-Deans.
  • You agree to watch the recording of the session you miss before attending the next session.
  • You may schedule a private catch-up conversation with co-dean Dr. Tish Thompson to ask any questions you may have. To respect Dr. Tish’s time, you agree to watch the recording of the missed session before your conversation.
  • You will have the option to attend a makeup session for the class you miss the next time that Speakers Academy is held.

You understand that you may retake Speakers Academy ONE time within 5 years after you first enroll in Speakers Academy for a steeply discounted tuition. (If you wish to retake Speakers Academy more than once and/or if you wish to retake Speakers Academy more than five years after you first enrolled, you will pay the regular tuition rate, less any discount you may be entitled to as an early bird enrollee and/or NSA-IL member in good standing.)

Finally, you understand that:

  • Your enrollment is final and your tuition will not be refunded.
  • If you are unable to participate, you may be able to transfer your registration to the next Speakers Academy if you contact the NSA-IL office up to 14 days before the program start date.
  • You may transfer your registration to another person at any point up until 48 hours before the program start date.
